I am making a website that has a shopping cart for customers. I currently have no way of handling transactions on the website for buyers to actually purchase anything. I am trying to see if there is a way to use Shopify to handle transactions. I am basically trying to add the checkout process of a shop to my personal website. How would I achieve this with Shopify?
I am new to Shopify.
Hi there, @Andrex!
Welcome to the Community! Definitely a great place to gather some input regarding anything about the platform!
With regards to your current website, are you able to tell us more about your business? Any information that you can share will help us understand your situation better and be able to assist accordingly.
To generally answer your question however, I would point you to our Shopify Lite Plan. This plan is for anyone who wants to sell products without maintaining an online store. If you want to embed a Buy Button on your personal website or blog, then you can do so with this plan.
Give these links a review to see how this works to what you are looking for. I am looking forward to hearing more from you.

Hello, @Daniel
Thank you for the quick response. About my website, it is simply an online shop where I would sell a few products such as woodcraft as I am also a carpenter. I have looked over the buy button app that shopify has however I don't wish to redirect users to a shopify site to process their payments, I would like to have customers stay on my site and have only a small box processing the price of their carts total. I have seen other developers use services such as selly and stripe however I want to use shopify for this.
Is there something that I can use to achieve this with the buy button and shopify lite plan that I may have missed?
Thanks for the added information, @Andrex.
A Buy Button is like a shortcut for buying one of your products. You can place Buy Buttons on your non-Shopify website or blog. Buy Buttons can show product pictures, descriptions, and prices, all while letting customers purchase products without leaving the website. Any updates to a product’s details in your Shopify admin will appear on the product’s Buy Button.
For example of the buyer experience, Fen sells clothing and accessories for sun protection. They create a Buy Button for their best-selling sun hat. Fen writes a blog post on Wordpress about the risk of sunburn even on a cloudy day and adds the Buy Button to the blog post. When someone reads the blog post, they can choose to buy the sun hat by clicking on the Buy Button. They complete their order without ever having to leave the blog. As for the administrative side, you can track Buy Button orders from your Shopify admin.
Have you tried our 14 day trial yet? This is a good and free way to get a firsthand experience on how the platform and our features may work for you and your store. Definitely let me know how this works out for you.
