How can I pass a product title to the contact page?

I'm want to pass a variable (product title) to the contact page so that a customer can click 'Enquire' on the product and it will auto-populate the subject of the contact page. It should be simple, I'm sure, but I'm just not having any luck.

I did think of doing something like PHPs 'get' function from the URL, but that doesn't seem to be a thing with liquid, and I did try setting a variable in the footer on the product page and using it on the next page (contact) but that didn't work either.

Please help 🙂
