How can I redirect an old product page to a new one without losing rankings?

Hi i need a redirect from an old Productpage on another/different website to a new websites product page. The content is the same but i dont want to lose the rankings from my old product page so i redirect the old PP to the new one. Is that possible because i tried it with the Navigation Tag and it still shows the old one? Best regards 🙂

Hey Ben,

You can setup 301 redirect by following these instructions: 

1. From your Shopify admin, click Settings > Apps and sales channels.

2. From the Apps and sales channels page, click Online store.

3. Click Open sales channel.

4. Click Navigation**.

5. Click URL Redirects.

6. Click Create URL redirect.

7. In Redirect from, enter the old URL that you want to redirect visitors from.

8. In Redirect to, enter the new URL that you want to redirect visitors to. If you want to redirect to your store's home page, then enter /.

9. Click Save redirect.

yes, thanks i know i did this but it doesnt work it still shows the old product page 😞 how long do i need to wait to see changes? directly?

You can set up a redirect, but what shopify doesn't tell you is that you need to delete the old product or change the old product into a "draft" instead of "active"
