How can I redirect my old domain to a new one?

I am changing the domain used for my store but want the ability to have the old domain redirect to the new one. How can i get this done? I have Connected the domain by going to Settings> Domain> connect But when typing in the web address Shopify is making me connect again

To confirm, both the old domain and new domain are connected to your Shopify store and the DNS settings within your third-party domain provider account match Shopify's records? You can follow the steps in our connect your third-party domain to Shopify manually resource to confirm.

Once you've set your new domain as the primary domain, the old domain will redirect to your primary domain. You can learn more about changing your primary domain in our help center resource.
