Spam backlinks attack.
Not quite sure of the correct terminology but i've done a site search for my own website and i've got three strange backlinks showing up on google. I'm presuming these are going to cause me some problems if not removed in terms of seo ranking. I didn't create these pages but they are showing up and when i click on them they are leading to my website and contain all this type of garbage --------- >>>>>>"best-cvv-sites + ⭕cardx【dot】vip⭕best-cvv-sites-2020 + live-cc-dumps + card-dumps-with-pin + top-dumps-shop + new-cc-dump-sites +"
I've been on to shopify and they are not really any help at all. It's almost like they are avoiding the issuse. I'm so disappointed with their response so far.
I'm not technical in the slightest so i'm struggling as what to do here. Can anyone shed a light on how i can get rid of these pages from my site permanently and stop this happening again in the future. I've also just set up a merchant account in google and was about to starting running a few test shopping ads. Is this spam issuse likely to cause me any problem with running ads in google????
Thanks D
I am having the same problem here..
I think we could do with an official statement from shopify as to how they plan to fix this issue for users of the platform. My site traffic has now dropped down to a trickle. I'm unsure of how best to proceed at this point.
We're having the same issues here and haven't had much help from Shopify. Have you been able to find a solution yet?
Hello,
I understand your concern!
Well, you can disavow these backlinks to discount the value of these spam inbound links. These links increase the unnecessary traffic on the website, slow the website’s loading speed, and may also result in a penalty from Google.
So, all you have to do is create a ‘.txt’ file for the backlinks you wish to disavow and upload the file to Google Search Console. It might take a few weeks to come into effect, and after that, Google will stop factoring those backlinks to determine the ranking of your website.
You can also make use of ‘Disavow Tools or Apps’ to inform Google Search Console to discount the value of the spam backlinks for your website.
Hope it helps!

We have a similar issue but as per usual Shopify avoids all issues that do not concern the platform and its monetization. We are also being spammed with trash backlinks from ghost pages generated by outdated WordPress sites, pages ending with a "-k.html" that point to many images on our website and affect our SEO. After research, one way of resolving this matter is blocking this type of spam from the server side but Shopify clearly avoids the issue and looks the other way.
I understand we are not the only ones and perhaps when the numbers of affected Shopify sites increase and users start changing to other platforms they might actually do something about it.
Regarding the Disavow process you need to go to the Google page, select your property for your list of sites, and include the website you want to disavow. Try doing the whole domain from www.siteexample.com should be more efficient. This option is NOT guaranteed but is worth a try.

Hello,
Any update on this? I'm dealing with this for over months. Almost 700 domains added to disavow and still coming. Any updates from shopify side?
