Does anyone know how to remove the Taxes (estimated) section at checkout? I'm currently only collecting taxes in 1 state, however people in other states are seeing this amount and it is deterring them from ordering. I have attached an example of what i'm talking about.Screen Shot 2022-03-28 at 11.21.47 PM.png

You can use the below link to define the tax state wise. In your case you can define it as 0% for the states you are not charging the taxes.

i understand that and it works fine once the customer enters their state, however sometimes customers see the tax total in their total amount first and they just discontinue their shopping.

Did you find a fix for this?

Same issue for me... I am from Canada and pay 13% tax and only have to charge 5 states tax. It is scaring everyone away showing a 13% tax on the contact information screen.

Very annoying.

I have been trying to figure this out myself.   Shopify refuses to acknowledge that it is an error.   The put in a fix "suggestion" but will not leave a ticket open.

I was on chat with them for around 40 minutes, no luck. They told me it was
from a third party app I am using, but wouldn't tell me the app, just told
me to 'check my apps'

well whoever you were chatting with was wrong.  it is not from a 3rd party app.  I have had two representatives talk to the tax team and this is the way they intended on displaying taxes until an address is entered.  my default is at 8% but I only charge taxes in New York.  so until the customer enters address from any other state the 8% remains.

on top of that Shopify admitted that even when the customer enters their payment method and proceeds with checkout the tax estimate may be wrong and the credit card can be charged a different amount.
