How can I set a looping video as my homepage banner?

Hello,
I would like to have a video as a homepage banner but with the theme customizer I can't manage to get the mp4 video in autoloop as background, no commands shown to the visitor. Does anyone know how I can get this done?
I've seen tons of code being needed.... that kind of freaks me out, shouldn't this be a simple feature on a website?
