How can I set the default filter option to 'Hide' on my store collection pages?

Hi - 

I'm trying to adjust the filter setting on my store collection pages. I want the default selection when it's expanded opens to have Hide selected versus Show. I'm using the Shopify Search & Discover app as my theme doesn't seem to have filters built in but the customization options are fairly limited. 

Can anyone assist?
