Hi,
I have two questions,
first one is how do I set up a preorder button instead of buy it now?
and second, I’m having issues with my email not connecting up to the website. In the contact us section if I send an email to doesn’t come through on my end in my emails?
could anyone help me out with these please
thanks
Chonny
Hi, @oneworldchonny.
The easiest way to implement a pre-order button on your store is by installing a third-party app. There are a few apps on our Shopify App Store that can help you achieve this, however I recommend taking a closer look at the pre-order apps below as they are highly-rated by our merchants:
Just a note that these apps are made by third-party developers outside of Shopify. So if you need more information about each respective app’s functionality, you can get in touch with the app developers as they're best equipped to answer app specific questions.
If you're comfortable with coding however, we have this tutorial available for you to follow that involves editing your theme's code. As it's an advanced tutorial though, if you need further help with it you can look into hiring a Shopify Expert.
With the issues you're experiencing with your contact form, are you using a third-party app at all on your store to control your website's contact form? Or do you perhaps have a third-party email app installed? If so, you can try to disable the app's features if it's available to do so within the app, to see if the issue will be fixed.
You can also try and install a fresh copy of a Shopify theme by going to Online store > Themes > Explore free themes and select a theme to add to your library. From there, click on Actions > Preview, and you can then test your store's contact form to see if your email address will receive the contact form submission. If the issues don't persist on the fresh theme, chances are a third-party app may be interfering with how your contact form is meant to function. If you or a developer working on your store have made any code changes recently to your theme, the newly added code may also be the cause of this issue. You can also double check your email settings within your domain or email hosting provider, just to make sure that the email address has been set up properly.
Let me know how you get on with the information and troubleshooting I laid out above! In the meantime, I thought I'll link some resources below, to further help you with setting up pre-orders for your store:

Thanks so much for your reply, I’m actually pretty terrible with anything technology 😂
I don’t have a seperate app running the email contact, should I?
I think it’s possibly got to do with this . It has however been pending before, so I assume I just don’t understand how to set it up.
do you know is there anyone I can contact help with it?
You don't necessarily need an app to run your website's contact form or manage your store's mailing list. Some stores have them to add extra functionalities, however if you're finding that your store is operating just fine with Shopify's native contact form, then I recommend just keeping things as is for now! If and when you feel that your business has outgrown the functionalities offered by Shopify's contact form or mailing list feature, you can always look at installing third-party apps in the near future.
With your domain, how long has it been in the pending state? Usually it takes around 48 hours for domains to be fully authenticated, however if it's been on the pending state on your end for more than 48 hours, you'll need to contact our Live Support team so that we can take a closer look at the domain from our end. Just a heads up though, if your domain is being hosted by a third-party platform (such as GoDaddy or Google, for example), then our team's scope of support might be a bit limited and you may also need to get in touch with your domain provider so that they can further help. But do get in touch with our Live Support team too, so that we can perform some initial troubleshooting on our end.
To get in touch with our team, you'll need to login to your store via our help centre here. Once logged in, select a topic that best fits your query or situation. From there, you'll be taken to a page with a list of relevant support articles, and you can scroll to the bottom of that page to select your preferred contact method with our team.
Apart from this, how are you getting on with your store and the Shopify platform? Just in case you're not aware of the resources that we have, we have a variety that can help store owners set up their store for success, including our Shopify Blog and our Shopify Learn channel. There are also a lot of different guides and tutorials for store owners listed on our Forum post here too. Feel free to take a closer look at them and bookmark them for future use!
