Hi,
I've encountered a bit of an issue with syncing my Shopify store and Meta assets.I will try to explain this as well as possible. Apologies for any confusion, the Meta back-end is extremely clubky and confusing.
I installed and setup "Facebook and Instagram by Meta" as described here https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-sales-channels/facebook-instagram-by-meta/setup
That created one catalogue titled "Shopify Product Catalogue" in my catalogue list on the Meta Commerce Manager. However, there is a pre-existing Commerce Account in the Commerce Manager as well; an instagram shop. This shop was set up by my business partner some time ago.
I cannot work out how to let that Instagram shop draw on the catalogue that I created. It's strange because on one page, the instagram shop is listed as a "Commerce Account". But it also appears as a "Catalogue" in the catalogue drop down menu.
The new "Shopify Product Catalogue" is syncing perfectly with our Shopify store. It lists all the new products that I add on Shopify. But the old instagram shop is what shows up on our Instagram account and it will only let me manually add items. It does not seem to be communicating with the new catalogue at all. I have tried to add the new catalogue to the shop in commerce manager but I can't find an option to do so.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? I could go in and manually add all the new items but that would defeat the purpose of being synced with Shopify...
