How do I export product data from Shopify to Excel?

Can someone please advise how to export our products/data out of shopify to excel?

Hi Steven,

Shopify has a built-in option to export all your product data to a spreadsheet. When you're on the product page of the admin screen, you can click on Export in the top right:

That will generate a CSV for you which you can open up in Excel:

If you want to customize the export more, like including a limited number of columns or products that match a complex search, there's some apps (including our Ablestar Bulk Product Editor) that can help you. But if you just want to get all your product data in Excel the in-built Shopify tool should do the trick.

Many thanks for this, i've done this,there is also a query as why it has not downloaded pictures?, also the price downloaded is this sales price ex vat or inc vat? please can you advise.

Hi,

In the downloaded CSV from Shopify there should be an "Image Src" column that contains the URL to each of the product images. Unfortunately they don't provide a zip file with all these images. I'm not aware of an easy way to automate this however it does look like it's possible using Google Sheets + some scripting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cgMbq_t5V0

For the prices, the values in the "Variant Price" column will be the same as the price shown in the Shopify admin. Whether those prices include VAT or not depends on the your store settings. If you go to "Settings -> Taxes and Duties" in your Shopify admin you'll see the "Include tax in prices" option:

If that's checked, the taxes are included in the prices in the export.
