how do i get a back button on my collections for dawn theme

I tried contacting tech support but they could not figure it out. i tried a script in one of the questions posted but it hasnt worked. the script "<button onclick="history.back()">Go Back</button>" did not when ever i try pressing the arrow to go back, it randomly takes me to my products page (not my home page).

When you press that button, you will return to the previous page you visited.

As i said, it takes me to the product page. Not the most recent page.
