how to add domain name

 am trying to add domain name. message say i need to contact my domain supplier change settings. domain supplier doesnt know what settings need to change.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Shopify Community.

I'd like to share some info with you here on connecting a third-party domain to your Shopify store. 

You can let your domain supplier know the DNS records for your domain would need to be updated so that domain points to your new Shopify store.

The info they would need to know is available via this link, but you can let them know they would need to point the A record to the Shopify IP address 23.227.38.65 and point the CNAME record with the name 'www' to shops.myshopify.com.

Have you been otherwise able to add the domain to your settings > domains menu in your Shopify admin and just need to get this updated with the domain registrar?

Are you setting up a store for the first time here, and would this be for a new or existing business?
