Hello, I’m new to Shopify and I just came from Etsy.
Everything was going smoothly with setting up my shop until I started to put one of my products up (beaded wire rings) and had to ad variations.
I need to have the variations for people to choose ring size and color.
I got through adding the size variation just fine but when I added the color variations I noticed that it made it where I need to add the stock for each possible combination. The only thing that would change in stock would be the color because I may run out of beads but I won’t run out of wire.
With this I have 235 variations (I counted) to go through to add stock and I don’t want to spend all day doing that.
Is there a way to only need to add specific stock to one variation and not the other?
Hi @AmazeAccs,
I recommend adding a line-item property in your product page. Assign a line-item property to the variant that you do not want to have an inventory but still need to pass the user input to the backend of shopify. You get the code here for the line-item. You can use the video tutorial below on how to add this to your product.
