How to adjust delivery dates in Shopify linked to the Google Merchant Center?

Goodmorning,

Anyone know: how to adjust delivery dates in Shopify linked to the Google Merchant Center? Because this should be changable within Shopify at the Shipping & Delivery and then 'expected delivery dates'. However i cannot change this or adjust settings, but it is switched of automatically and marked light grey, and that's why i cannot adjust it. When clicking on this 'manual delivery times' part, it gives the remark to first set up expected delivery dates and delivery rates. Delivery rates are already setted up and expected delivery dates i want to set up here, but it doesn't work. I try to read the Support pages that are talking about this, but it is not helping or providing a solutution.

The main-reason wanting to change this, is because the products in the Shopify store are linked/synced to the 'Google Merchant Center', but here mainly it shows 1 - 9 delivery, where it is maybe 1 or 2 delivery days. I can change it here to 1 - 2 days, but after a few days it pops back to 1 - 9 delivery days, but to due Auto Sync update.

Anyone has an idea on this?  Am not sure if it can hurt the visibility on Google, but the data doesn't match and the place where it should be adjustable, is not possible.

Thanks for taking a look / helping out.

If possible, disalbe automatic shipping settings in the google and youtube app.

Then in GMC Classic you should be able to edit it. However, as of late Google has disabled this function. So if you have done this, and you can not edit the shipping settings then check the below video which is for GMC Next:

Alternatively, you could also install a different data feed application, such as: https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds

Thanks for your reply and the YT instruction video. It gives a clear possibility of two options which can be done. Only i am not sure if the 'small thing trying to fix with setting the delivery day', is given/creating more problems with the Google Merchant Center...
1) Because if i disable the connection with Shopify, i think the connection with the auto-synced products from Shopify to GMC will also loose connection (or even be deleted), resulting the Products going out of Google / Google Shopping
2) Option 2 was the Classic mode, but loose functions and cannot switch back untl a certain time or update.

So am not sure is dropping the sync connection is a good option.

The (small) problem is that in the Google Merchant Center the products are showing 'much longer delivery day', but Google doesn't show this (i believe) for example in Google Shopping. So am not sure if these extended (incorrect) delivery days in the GMC as having any effect anywhere. Can you please advise on this? Because then, i can make the pro's and con's, and to drop the sync connection or just leave it that way (because it was no or little effect)

Many thanks

1) Yes that will be the case, but only for a short period (depending on how fast you are) If it was me, and I prepare everything, maybe 15 minutes.

2) The only function you will not have is Product Studio, for the rest, GMC Classic has more features.

My recommendation, if you are concerned is to use a different app, which you can use with the current GMC Next version.

Hi, there. Been a while. Had this on my next agendapoint to do so.

The only concern that i still have with this:

- Shopify can be disconnected in the Google Search Console

- But the problem is that the Google Search Console gets (i believe) the data of delivery times/dates from Shopify setting

- Only in Shopify these Shipping settings (delivery dates/times) are not visible by / believe not accesable for whatsover reason.

- So i think as soon when i re-connect Shopify with the Google Search Console, Google will read our the data again from Shopify and sets everything back to 1-9 days delivery time/days.

Hope you i texted it good and you understand my concerns a little, because the more logical way is to adjust it somewhere in Shopify - as there comes the source data from that Google is using.

Thank you in advance.

In bold my answers.

- Shopify can be disconnected in the Google Search Console

You can manually link it again.

- But the problem is that the Google Search Console gets (i believe) the data of delivery times/dates from Shopify setting

Possible, but not important. The main important part is to have the shipping details in Google Merchant Center.

- Only in Shopify these Shipping settings (delivery dates/times) are not visible by / believe not accesable for whatsover reason.

If you meant Google Merchant Center, yes this is not editable, as indicated, you need to use a different app, especially now that GMC Next is enforced by the end of this month.

- So i think as soon when i re-connect Shopify with the Google Search Console, Google will read our the data again from Shopify and sets everything back to 1-9 days delivery time/days.

No, Google Search Console, has nothing to do with Google Merchant Center shipping data.

Thanks for your reply. It were actually not all questions seperatly, but we marked the steps with bulletpoints.

But our Main-Issue / Question = Wouldn't the Shopify Shipping dates OVERRIDE the Google Shipping settings? Because we tried to do it manually before (without the disconnecting). We updated to 1-2 days, and within a few days it was set back to 1-9 days, because the GMC get the Shipping dates from Shopify right. But in Shopify we cannot acces or edit any Shipping dates/time. Hope this message more is understandable for what our concern is.

Thank you in advance for looking into it and responding.

I don't use the google and youtube app, because it does not have much functionality, and too many restrictions. But yes, if you change the shipping in Shopify, it should update in GMC. If that is not the case, and you want to keep using the app, contact Google: https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/shopify_3p_support_app

However, if you meant, shipping details are created by a 3rd party, not natively in Shopify, then yes, this data will not be imported to GMC, nor will any other app do this, becuase it's 3rd party data, which the apps don't have access to.

In this case, you will need to use a different app as highlighted before, and manually setup your shipping rates in GMC shipping settings.

Contacting Google will not work, because not a single data feed app, can access 3rd party shipping data.

I think we are talking a bit in different ways -_-'

We want simple to adjust the Shipping Time/Days from 1-9 days in the GSC to 1-2 days. BUT (we believe) we need to do it somewhere in the Shipping Settings op Shopify, as there is an API feed connection. HOWEVER we cannot acces this within Shopify.

Hope this is more understandable, but the problem and our concern is. We believe we need to update it with the Source (Shopify Shipping Settings), but we don't know how

Search Console Data is collected via structured data, which most likely is added to the theme.

However there also cases where it is added via an app.

I recommend you check your theme for schema.org data or check your apps which one is controlling structured data.

You can also check what data you are sending out by testing your product landing page using: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results

Thanks for your reply, but it's actually not the thing we are looking for. We are looking for: to adjust our delivery time in Shopify to 1-2 days, so the Shopify API feed connection won't override/adjust the feed in Google to 1-9 days

It's seems that there are lots of things mixed up.

When you talk about Shopify API Feed, I guess you meant the google and youtube app, this app is to submit data to Google Merchant Center.

However, you are also talking about Google Search Console, which has nothing to do with the google and youtube app, nor the shopify api feed.

Google Search Console uses sitemap related data.

From the sitemap, it will crawl the pages, and use the info supplied on the pages. And more importantly structured data.

Structured data is submitted via the theme if you have coding, or in some cases an app.

If you are talking about Google Merchant Center, then 3rd party shipping data, can not be submitted to Google Merchant Center. If you are using native shopping options, then this should work, if it doesn't update, you need to contact Google: https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/shopify_3p_support_app

If you can not fix the issue in Google Merchant Center, then use a different app such as: https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds

We have skipped around in different directions, if this does not help you, then wait till someone else replies, or hire someone to look into your account to identify the issue and concerns you have.

I have tried my best to understand your issues, but I feel like it's not something I can help with via community replies, as you screenshots and first reply is about Google Merchant Center, then you say Google Search Console. So it's going all over the place.

Hi Mark

I have the same issue, did you manage to find a solution?

Mark1988

No unfortunately not. The only possible solution i have heard was to 'disconnect' temporarily the connection between the Google Merchant Center and Shopify. We disconnect from both sides and adjusted the processing and delivering dates, but after reconnecting the API-feed get transferred from Shopify to the Google Merchant Center again, and the processing and delivery dates getting VERY LONG again (4 - 12 days). Also within Shopify we cannot find or change anything of dates (the place where it should stand is not editable / light grey).

So it seems no one in the World knows how to fix this problem... -_-'

I may have a solution, I ended up uploading my feed via CedCommerce. It too
around 10 days to upload the products to GMC. They have a setting area
where you can select- upload shipping and return to GMC. You can disable
this and the manually enter your shipping and return details.
