Hello.
I'm looking for a solution that allows us to display metafields only on related categories. At the moment when a product metafield is created it displays on all products.
How for instance would we go about having "Processor", this entry field should be on laptops, desktops etc when creating a new product, not on a category it has no relation to ie. Monitors or Keyboards.
Can it be explained the correct way so that a new product is created and lets say for instance under the laptop category it would only pull in metafields to fill in that are relevant ?
Can this be done by code or yet another app, I'm happy to provide anything that assista as Im losing hair over this now!
@DanLapodo using custom code would be difficult as you will need to check all metafields for each product and then show required ones onto that product, you may have many products, so I recommend to find an app.
I'm new to Shopify after moving from Magento, this seems a huge fundemental floor to me though. I see that some of Shopify category metafields only display on related categories, why are you unable to group product metafields to a particular product, or am I missing something and should be constructing the page differently, should I be using category metafields instead?
Am i looking at this wrong as it makes no sense, why would you want product metafields displaying when creating a new product that have no reference to that product? If I create a product metafield for laptops and monitors like "Screen Size", why would I want to see that option if I want to create a new product under Bags.
Is it not possible then to limit the displaying of product metafields to relevant products
I see that Shopify's metafields are category specific. How can I add product metafields to specific categories?
