How to Change the URL Handle of the "All" Collection through Code in Shopify?

Hello everyone,

I would like to change the URL handle of the "All" collection on my Shopify store from mysite.com/collections/all to something more descriptive, like mysite.com/collections/everything. I want to do this through my Shopify theme's code.

I've searched for the collection.liquid file, but it seems to be missing from my theme. How do I proceed to change this URL handle through code?

Are there specific files or sections of code that I need to modify? I'm hoping for any guidance or instructions I can follow.

If you really want to help, please complete it here, in my opinion this is a common mistake that doesn't have to be taken personally. Thanks. I'm sure everyone also experiences this problem because this is the default (all product navigation) shopify.

Such links aren't hardcoded in most themes.

The theme only consumes a resource (navigation) then renders it with liquid logic.

To change the handle of the /all collection in the admins at the bottom of the collections admin page.

Or setup a redirect all -> everything or everything -> all

And update any navigation menus

In my opinion, the redirect method is not effective because it will leave a trace of the collection/all data, I want after I change the URL, collection/all has been replaced with another one, in my opinion there is a way, because what we already know is that we can change the URL like product/ collection/blog and I'm sure, of all the default products, Shopify can also be changed.

In my expert experience , redirects are incredibly effective for numerous reasons.  Leaving a trace is good one because otherwise that's actively choosing to break any and all existing links to a store; counter to that should only be done for very good measurable & definable reasons preferably under the guidance of an SEO expert and not based on an opinion.

Changing a resources title is not the same as changing it's handle

If all this just to change the display text i.e. /everything -> collections/all and not the actual underlying url, thats either just editing navigation menus or a very invasive advanced theme customization to modify every area of a theme that could possibly ever output a link.

From all the explanations from your expert experience, all I can see is the reason you can't change directly. In my opinion, it would be good to emphasize the purpose of the URL directly so that the machine's level of scanning credibility also increases. My main goal is to change the URL handle to one with more effective keywords and while you suggest I create an alternative redirect? I'm sure that's not an effective step, why if you can go straight to your destination but instead choose to redirect? logically

Read the solutions, you can change it directly nothing was ever said that you cannot.

Creating a redirect is an alternative for situations like trying to to force urls through theme behavior instead of actually changing the resource.
