How to connect a Squarespace domain to a new site?

Hey! I just connected a domain I have registered with Squarespace. It used to be connected to my old website with Squarespace but I have deleted the old site. Now I try and connect it to my Shopify site but it still redirects to my expired Squarespace account. Is this temporary?

It's possible that your domain's DNS settings are still pointing to the old Squarespace website, even though you have deleted it.

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

• Log in to your Squarespace account (where you registered the domain).
• Check the DNS settings for the domain and make sure they are pointing to Shopify. You can reference the information in our help center resource for what to input. 
• If the DNS settings are correct, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies and then accessing your website again.
• If the issue persists, contact Squarespace for further assistance. This is because Shopify can't access your third-party domain's settings. If you have trouble setting up your domain, then you must work with your domain provider. 

It's also possible that your domain's DNS settings may take some time to propagate, so it's possible that the issue may be temporary. However, if the issue persists after trying the above steps, it's best to contact Squarepace.
