How to display monthly rental cost next to full price on product pages?

Hey!

In my shop (I use Debut), I'd like to offer customers to rent objects and pay either for the full extent of their rental time on checkout or choose to pay a monthly sum each month of their rental time. I'm aware that I need a payment app that accepts monthly payments - that's not my issue.

My issue is displaying the monthly price cost next to the "regular" (full price), which show up in all product pages and on checkout. In the variation settings for the products, where I've set time of rental as an option, I cannot add a customized input field for what the monthly price will be, in the form where I set the price-information for the product. Is there a way to add a custom input-field where I can enter the monthly cost for that particular version of the product and then have it displayed next to the full price throughout the store?

So for example:

A product costs $75 to rent for 3 months. Thus, the "regular" price, which I enter in the variation for 3 months displays as $75 wherever on the site the price shows up. Next to that I'd like to display the monthly price: "$25 monthly cost".

Another product costs $120 to rent for 6 months. Next to the $120-price I'd like to display "$20 monthly cost".

I hope one of you code-savvy's is able to help me. Thanks a bunch.

You could create a variant option called 'Payment Cycle' (for example) with options 'Full Price' and 'Monthly'. After you've done that you'll be able to assign both the regular and monthly prices to the appropriate variants.

Thanks for the suggestion! It's a good idea, however I need to be able to display the total price upon checkout. This doesn't allow me to do that, thus I can't present and collect the correct amount of money from the customer. Is it possible to change that, so the total price equals the entered price multiplied by the number of months it's supposed to be rented for?

If I understand correctly, you just want to *display* a calculated price, right?  This has nothing to do with what the cart will send to the checkout?

Hi @Jeff_on_Shopify ,

What you describe is exactly what I would like to achieve. We want to display a monthly price, but charge an annual price.

Any ideas how to do this?

Thanks!

Sven
