Hi,

Is there any news about the integration of Google Analytics 4 in Shopify?

We cannot retrieve any data regarding e-commerce since we are not on Shopify Plus.

Many thanks,

Marie-Michèle

Hi @mariecarrier

Currently, there's no direct way to simply integrate Google Analytics into your store.

Although there is still a way via code. Please let me know if you'd be interested in setting up that way - I'll share the full thing here only.

Cheers!

Here you go:

  1. Login to your GA account
  2. Click on "Admin"
  3. Go to "Property" and select "Data Streams"
  4. Click "Add Stream"
  5. Select "Web"
  6. Provide your shop URL.
  7. Under Tagging Instructions, select "Add new on-page tag"
  8. Copy the gtag.js script code...
  9. Now come to your Shopify account and go to your themes page.
  10. Click "Edit Code"
  11. Now in the theme.liquid file, paste the code that you copied - right under the <head> tag
  12. Click Save. Done.

Now make sure you've set it up correctly. Visit your website once or twice in a new browser window.

And go to your GA console and click "Realtime" to see if any data is captured.

Hope this helped you! Please let me know if you need anything else.

Cheers!

Whilst this allows me to track visitors, I cannot track transactions. Is this a known issue? Thanks
