How to maintain original resolution in Dawn theme modal product images?

Hello,

I am having an issue with Dawn theme in regards to how my modal product images (expand image/click to zoom) resolutions are rendered. On the backend they look great, more than 2048px, but when being expanded on the actual website they are showing around only 800px. Is there any way to retain the original resolution for these images? I believe the issue may be related to "sizes" in card-product.liquid. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Example of issue attached.
