How to only show only selected variants and their associated images CUSTOM THEME

Dear all,

I recently bought a custom theme and I am almost done with my adaptations. But I have an issue with color swatches.

My variants have around 5 images each and I want to show all the associated images with the selected variant. All other variants and their associated images should be hidden.

Unfortunately the theme-designers do not offer additional coding.

Can someone please help me with the code for that?

Welcome to Shopify Community.

If you are want to group images based on variants in a custom theme then you have to code to make images work with alt. These needs custom code changes based on theme code. So if you are not good with it then I would suggest to seek help of a developer at a reasonable cost.

It's funny that none of the available themes have this feature and need custom coding.

I have an offer, but not sure if it is high or not. The theme cost me 40$ and that one coding would cost 60$...

Can you say how much your developer would charge for that?
