How to remove domain

I’m looking to remove a domain I’ve made but it doesn’t show the delete button how do I remove it so it wont be redirected to my store?

If the delete button is missing, it likely means the domain is either Shopify-managed (purchased through Shopify) or set as your primary domain.

Try these steps:

1. Change your primary domain – Go to Settings > Domains and select another domain as primary. Then check if the delete option appears.
2. Remove third-party domains – If it's from a third-party provider, remove it from Settings > Domains and update the DNS settings at your registrar to stop redirecting.
3. For Shopify-purchased domains – You can't delete them, but you can transfer them to another provider or let them expire.

If you’re unable to see the Delete button for the domain, it’s possible that the domain is set as your primary domain or connected directly through Shopify. To remove the domain and stop it from redirecting to your store, you can try the following steps:

1. Check if it's set as your primary domain:

   • Go to your Shopify Admin > Settings > Domains.
   • If the domain is set as your primary domain, you’ll need to change your primary domain to another one first. Once changed, the Delete option should appear.

2. Disconnect the domain:

   • If the domain was purchased through Shopify, you may need to transfer it or remove it from your store settings.
   • If it’s a third-party domain, you’ll need to remove the DNS settings pointing to Shopify from your domain provider’s account.

3. Contact Shopify Support:

   • If the option still doesn’t appear, I recommend contacting Shopify Support for further assistance. They’ll be able to manually remove it for you.
