Liquid, JavaScript, themes, sales channels
Hello all,
The set-up of GA4 with Shopify seems to be far less straightforward than the more common Universal Analytics. You can use Google Tag Manager, as we did, to add the tracking code onto the store but purchases aren't tracked by default. With the help of some YouTube videos, we managed to track purchase conversions using an additional script in the checkout, but there are still lots of gaps in the data. Some orders are missing, and we see purchases being logged for products that haven't been purchased.
Does anybody know how to set up GA4 with Shopify in a way that all of the data is tracked, especially conversions and conversion value?
Also, is there a way to track the checkout stages individually in GA4?
