how to setup a hybrid shopify store (self-fulfilled and drop-shipped items)

Currently I have a shopify store that sells only items I have stocked at my single 3PL warehouse.

I would like to start offering products that I dropship.

How do i setup these products so that I dont need to track inventory, but can calculate shipping rates?

What is the best practice for setting up a hybrid store (NOT using ali express)?

Thank you!

Go to the product details page in the Shopify admin, you'll see the checkbox to decide whether to track inventory or not.

Then go to Settings > Shipping and delivery to set your shipping rates for those products. This should help: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/shipping/setting-up-and-managing-your-shipping/shipping-profiles/...

Best practice for setting up a hybrid store is too broad a question to answer, but it doesn't really matter if your store is hybrid, dropship, or you handmake stuff and sell it, from the customer's point of view they are buying from you / your store. As far as logistics, you can send orders to your partners by email or app (if they have an automated integration), then they ship the order to the customer, but you do all the customer communication.
