How to stop/correct images disappearing from blog posts (Dawn Theme)

I published two blog posts in January (10th & 26th). At that time there was nothing wrong, all images showed up, etc. Today, when preparing my next post, I realized that more than 1/2 of the images are gone/broken. They are still in the content folder. I edited one post and reuploaded the pictures.

How do I avoid this happening in the future?

You should check for the image file type, its advisable that you use jpg or png file
