Hi everyone,
I’m facing an issue and would really appreciate some help.
My previous Shopify store was restricted, and despite several attempts to unlock it, the restrictions couldn't be lifted. After weeks of trying, I created a new store to move forward. However, when I tried to connect the domain from my restricted store to the new one, I received a message saying "domain is frozen."
I’ve also reached out to my third-party domain provider and updated the DNS settings as needed, but despite doing all of this, Shopify still hasn’t unfrozen the domain.
Does anyone know how I can unlink my domain from the old, restricted store and connect it to my new store? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hey Ashtag,
Heddy from Gameball: Loyalty Program & VIP here!
If you're trying to unlink a domain from a restricted Shopify store, you'll need to contact Shopify Support directly. They have to manually release the domain from the old store, especially if the store has been restricted. Updating DNS settings through your domain provider is a good first step, but Shopify has to handle the unlinking.
Hi Heddy,
Thanks for your response!
My store was actually restricted 4 months ago, and after numerous attempts to recover it, Shopify ultimately refused to lift the restrictions. After weeks of effort, I finally created a new store, but when I saw that my domain was frozen, I immediately contacted Shopify Support.
Unfortunately, they haven’t responded to me yet, and I’m really struggling to understand why they’re not addressing this. I just wish they would at least tell me what steps I can take to unlink my domain, as I’ve done everything I can on my end.
Any additional advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!
