Hello all,
I just came to realise there are some HTML Sitemaps appearing in my shop's search results, how can I remove them?
The theme I am using is Brooklyn.
Attached is a screenshot for clarity.
Hello, @Ernest0706.
Elias here with Shopify Support. Thank you for reaching out.
I understand that there are some HTML sitemaps appearing in your shop's search results. Just to clarify, were there any custom coding or third-party apps installed to your store recently that may have lead to the issue?
Since you're using a Shopify-supported theme, then our Theme Support team can help you look into this issue. If your store is subscribed to a plan, you're eligible to use the complimentary design time included with your subscription for modifying your theme. It's worth noting that our Theme Support can assist you with a number of modifications; however, for reference purposes, there is a short list of unsupported customizations outlined on our design policy.
Though I'm unable to help with creating a customization request, as we aren't able to provide account-specific support via the Community Forums. Nonetheless, our Support team would be happy to assist you with this through live chat, email, or callback. Please visit the Shopify Help Center and log in to your account to create a support request.
I'd love to know if our Support team can help you resolve the issue with your search results. Let me know!

@Elias Hello,
I installed the AVADA SEO Suite app and I think this app is the most likely reason of the HTML sitemaps appearing in the search results.
Is there a way to remove those sitemaps without having to remove the app?
Thanks.
I am also having same issue.
Greetings, @SMA_EF & @Abhi999.
Thank you for joining this thread!
I understand that you're both having an issue with the sitemaps. However, just to confirm, did the issue start after installing a particular app?
If the issue is caused by a third-party app, then we'd recommend getting in touch with the app developer first so that you can better understand the impacts of removing their sitemaps. Simply reach out to the app developer directly using the contact information found in the Support section of their app's page.
That being said, if the issue is due to an outdated sitemap, then you can submit your sitemap and Google can reindex your site. On the other hand, if you're looking to delete a sitemap that's not related to an app, then you can delete XML sitemaps using Google Search Console.
I noticed that you're both new members of our Shopify Community! Once you've resolved the issue with the sitemap, I'd love to hear more about your business and share some resources to help you get started!

Hello, @Ernest0706.
My apologies for the late response here!
Since the sitemaps are coming from a third-party app, then we'd recommend getting in touch with the app developer about removing the sitemaps as I can't confirm whether removing their sitemaps will impact your store or the use of their app. While it's possible to delete XML sitemaps using Google Search Console, I'd recommend reaching out to the developer directly through the contact information found in the Support section of their app's page.
Once you've had a chance to speak with the developer, I'd love to hear more about your business and the resolution shared by the app developer! Keep me posted!

Thank you. Solved the problem
@Ernest0706, @SMA_EF & @Abhi999 if it's any help:
I have also stumbled upon this issue in my own store. In my case I was able to identify the source as the "AVADA SEO Image Optimizer Speed" app. If you navigate to and open the AVADA app, in the navigation tree on the left side there will be a globe type symbol for the HTML site map settings. If you select this you will be able to see and change the settings, deselect all, or disable this function altogether (don't forget to save the changes).
However, since the HTML sitemap pages have already been created for your store you will need to manually go and hide them or delete them. To do this from your Shopify admin you will need to navigate to your online store and select "pages" in the navigation on the left. You will then see a list of pages for your store including the HTML sitemaps. You can then proceed to select the pages using the checkboxes, use the "action" dropdown, and select hide or delete.
At least this was my experience if it helps anyone else.
This worked! Thanks so much!
This worked for me also! Thanks!
This worked for me, thank you!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Hey I had the same issue, I just made my html sitemap pages hidden and that solved the problem. Go to theme - page - select your html sitemaps and make them hidden. Hope that helps.
