Hello,

I'm new here and I'm struggling with importing email addresses only from my subscriber list on my computer. I only have emails, no physical addresses. I downloaded the template but it doesn't work. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you  It's CSV format.

Hi @THG63 !

Matrixify can help here! You'd just need to create a file with only 1 column - "Email", name your CSV file "Customers" and Import. Then Matrixify would Import your Customer emails.

hello @THG63

Some of the items to consider:

1. Open the CSV in a text editor or spreadsheet program (such as Excel or Google Sheets) to receive a check that emails are in one column with the proper header.

2. Remove unwanted space, blank lines, and special characters from the file.

3. If the platform requires a template, paste the email addresses in the correct column and export as CSV. Locate column mapping option under import to map your system fields to CSV data.

4. When uploading, check if there's an option to map columns—this allows you to match your CSV data with the system's fields.

Hi @THG63

Shopify allows you to import CSV with email only, so please remove information in other columns, just put emails in the email column, and then import.

Make sure emails are in the correct email format.

I recommend you modify your file using online Google spreadsheets so you won't get the issue with CSV format.

Thanks, I will try this.  Sorry for the ignorant question, this is all new to me. How do I know if they are in email format? I'm using the CSV sheet I downloaded from my email software and figured I can simply copy from there.

Hi @THG63

For importing email addresses only into Shopify, you should use a simple CSV Format and ensure that your CSV file has a single column titled Email (eg: customer1@example.com, customer2@example.com). Save your file as UTF-8 to avoid formatting issues. Then, use Shopify's import tool by going to Customers > Import customers, upload your CSV, and map the email field correctly.

You can also try a third-party app – If issues persist, use apps like Matrixify or Shopify Email for smoother imports.

Hope this helps 🙂
