Our variation listings on Shopify currently display random parent listing images (integration with ChannelAdvisor), leading to a suboptimal shopping experience when out-of-stock colors are shown. We understand that we cannot remove out-of-stock products due to retail POS usage.
We seek a solution that automatically switches the parent listing image to display only in-stock variant colors. A possible approach is:
Automated Variant Image Switching: Implementing a process that connects inventory status to the parent listing image, ensuring accurate representations of available colors.
For example, when a customer sees a color that is out of stock in the parent listing image, they might still click on it, only to find out that the chosen color is unavailable. This creates frustration and inconvenience for our customers and negatively impacts their overall shopping experience on our website.
