In Broadcast Theme 3.3.1 is there a way to make side filter carrots default to closed?

We have been implementing the Broadcast theme mentioned above and one thing we would like to do is make the carrots in the filter options default to closed and let the customer open the ones that pertain to them. Is this something wee can alter in the theme code?
