Inconsistent object hierarchy with liquid API

Talking about Liquid API.

I see that most of the objects return metafields:

'page' has 'metafields'
'product' has 'metafields'
'order' has 'metafields'
... etc.
But
'customer' does not have 'metafields'

Can it be fixed, as it obviously was missed.

You can pull customer metafields from a customer with Liquid. I checked a customer account that's at least 8yrs old and the liquid showing the metafield still works.
