We have a shopify store at https://store.milkwood.net/ and a wordpress site at https://www.milkwood.net/ we have menu links so people can navigate between them. We currently embed buy buttons on our wordpress site to promote the products we sell in our shopify store.
Problem is, if customers add products to their cart in Wordpress via the buy buttons and then decide they would like to continue shopping via the store menu link they get a empty cart in the store, and vice versa. Is there any way to merge the two carts?
Or alternatively is there any way to create a dynamic embed of a collections (similar to what the buy button collection does) but instead of adding items directly to the 'wordpress' cart it adds the purchases to the shopify store cart and encourages them to continue shopping there.
There must be a better way.
Bump - surely someone has come up with a way of fixing this issue?

So now I am looking at using Shopify's Headless channel and then a custom Wordpress plugin to achieve this... looks like a bit of a steep learning curve though

I’m curious as to if you’ve found a solution with Shopify headless. I am in the exact same boat with my site as it’s a hybrid WP Shopify. Shopify hosts payments, product catalog/pages, etc with buy button and I’m having trouble with conversion tracking on certain ad platforms. I am considering headless for a more custom build but am wondering if you’ve been able to solve this. Thanks
