Is it beneficial to use long product titles in Shopify after migrating from Etsy?

I am new to Shopify and migrated my data from Etsy. Etsy uses very long titles for each listing as the words are tags for search and SEO.  Is it necessary (or helpful) to continue with these long titles in Shopify or can the title literally just be the name of the product only?  Thanks!

This is because we offer other ways of adding tags or SEO-related data to your products using dedicated fields. 

 

You can optimize your content using features built in to Shopify:

You can edit the title tags, meta descriptions, and URLs for blog posts, webpages, products, and collections.

You can edit the alt text for images.

Are you using a Product CSV to import your product data into Shopify? If so, that's a very easy way to separate the necessary information into the correct columns. To help with this, make sure to check out the explanation for Product CSV fields.
