I noticed a bunch of pages in Google Console that leads to pages that have these breadcrumbs and left navigation.

If you do a Google search you will find other sites with this same issue. It's crashing my SERPs!
Hi Beamingsun,
I'm having the same issue with my site as well and saw all of the other stores affected as well after conducting a google search. I reached out to Shopify and was told not to worry because Shopify has been made aware and they are working to resolve the issue.I was told by Shopify support not to worry but I'm concerned this will affect our SEO and reputation. I can't locate any files in the admin section or in the code other than from the breadcrumbs or schema.org section where it says listitem. I'm really concerned about this and shopify just said they are looking into it but these links have already been indexed and will download malware.
Here is the chat log from 6.16.23 when I first noticed the issue:
11:50 G*** (Support Advisor): Ok we are getting somewhere! Our team have been advised of this, these links are no longer able to succesfully redirect to merchant stores. While the merchant experience should remain unchanged, Google will no longer index these for SEO purposes. Our team are revisiting this at the moment as we have had similar reports to this.
11:50 G*** (Support Advisor): Essentially there is no direct threat to your store- but our team are aware of this
11:51 G*** (Support Advisor): This third party article does give you steps on how you can deal with these backlinks- however you would need to be confident in what you are doing: How to Stop Spam Backlinks from Ruining Your Google Reputation
Same situation here. I've only noticed this issue recently after doing a load of seo on my site. I've only got three of four of these spam pages showing up at present but i feel it's probably undone all the hours of work i'd put in on the seo side of things. I've reached out to shopify on several occasions and they don't seem to be bothered. I'm shocked as to how dismissive they have been about the issue. We pay to use the platform via the monthly fees - we need some resolution. This problem seems to be happening on lots and lots of shopify sites.
Hi there!
Just wanted to give an update on this from what I've experienced. I noticed that i haven't updated my theme within the last few releases to avoid having to re-code some of my pages. I thought it would be fine because I didn't see any security updates included in those releases and thought well it must only be improvements with design etc.. After experiencing the headache with the evil backlinks, I decided to update my theme and it worked. Those shady links now trigger my 404 pages where as the older version of my theme did not. As Shopify mentioned, Google did prevent those links from being indexed because those pages are all 404s now vs those shady backlinks created from evil creatures lurking beneath the earths core, lol. Hope this helps and anyone can feel free to chime in if I've missed or left anything out.
I just updated my theme july 1st , but i still see those vendors spam pages being indexed. So i m trying the old Jizo_Inagaki solution.
Please update us if you have any luck with this method. My theme developer has just sent me an updated theme which will hoppefully stop the spam pages. I've installed it but need to try and find out if this solution has worked as yet. Have you also done the google 'disavow' thing on thee spam pages????
I never did disavow , i rather not touch it for now until this is resolved. The weird thing is that this issue was supposedly fixed early this year. There was an announcement by shopify staff . The vendors spam issue went away completely.
But i also installed the shopify search and discovery app over a month ago and i was just looking at the settings and i noticed for predictive search results Queries was checked so i unchecked it. No clue if that will help?
