Hi @luxurionworld ,

There are 2 type of limitations on shopify:

1) 100 SKU per product

2) 1000 new SKUS creation limit per day, when you have more than 50 000 SKUS on your store (This limitation doesn't effect shopify plus stores).

No In short there is no strict limitations on shopify, because even if you have cheaper plan you are still able to increase your catalog just a bit slower.

This new limit is pretty much making it impossible to setup a proper clothing store with thousands of products. 1500 clothing items is around 50,000 sku is only a few brands for my store and then we reach a dead end. This will be the death of Shopify for small business if they keep this up.

They shouldn't even bother selling apparel themes with this B.S rule in place!

We also come across this problem quite often. For any apparel business, new
sku needs to be uploaded everyday because old products go out of stock. If
we delete the products then the dead link on google becomes problematic. In
view of this, Shopify should not limit the number of skus upto 50000 only.

Well, shops which has over 50k SKUS isn't that small. Also in just 50 days you can upload another 50k SKUS to your store 50 days x 1000 day limit. So in few months you can grow you store quite a lot. Also if you use some 3-th party tools which automate products synchronization, you woun't even need to bother to keep uploading products every day, you can simply set up automated synchronization from your supplier and 1000 new SKUS will be uploaded every day.

Also you can always buy Shopify plus plan which doesn't have this limitation, so saying that shopify is killing small businisess isn't really right, they just give you what you have paid for.

You can create a store of 50k SKUS for $29/month that's really cheap.

Do you realise how much more work that is? We have at least 20 brands we need to load ASAP and now that will take over a year to load.  15 clothing items is 1000 sku.  It's a joke...

We didn't sign up to a 50,000 sku max and then it's limited. I believe that is a new policy which has been implemented after we have invested time and effort on building a store and paying for a new theme. Shopify plus is way too expensive for most businesses. Is this a shopify plan to try and increase revenue. Anyway....Will be interested to see how this pans out
