Howdy y’all

this is my first message so please bear with me.

I keep hearing of POS, ant quite sure what that really means to my small business.   I know it’s point of sale yet I do cash at my craft fairs, farmers markets, and primitive skills gatherings…where I teach and sell cool stuff.

im fixin to be at a high end local show called the Made Fair….made in Montana only products.  I will be around upwards of 20,000 folks over a course of two weekends.

I’ve only done cash in the past, yet I will loose money unless I do something different.

options…

1- no credit card reader and have folks buy from their phone my stuff.

I don’t have all my products up on site and many people get lots of seeds and fossils etc.          to many items to add to a shopping cart.

any suggestions…..ex.  Let’s say they buy 13 seed packets, 5 different fossil packets, and lots of candles.   What’s a good way to just do a 125$ order w/o cresting an order or whatever every time?

2- is there a Shopify credit card reader with no app or POS or whatever

If I get one of the Shopify readers which is best?   I have a personal iPad yet do folks have to type or whatever their info on my personal iPad every time?   I have NO smart phone.   Got a dinosaur flip phone.

do I use my iPad with reader to set up the price?  I’ve never operated a credit card reader only used them to buy stuff NOT sell stuff.

3-   I’m a simple person and don’t want any apps.  I see 3 card readers and a nice and fancy expensive card reader bar code scanner thing.   Which is needed?

4-  if I get a Shopify card reader do I give all my bank info to someone new or is this seamless since I’m a Shopify user?

This is why I don’t wanna use square or whomever.    I don’t want give my bank info to someone new.

5-  my email on file is messing up how do I know if anyone responds?

ok long winded words…..thank you.  Anyone have any insights?
