I am transfering a domain from another to shopify.  I went through the process and got a confirmation email   .  .   .

Dear Customer,

WZ (UK) Ltd received notification on Monday, Mar 29, 2021 that you have requested a transfer to Tucows Inc.  If you want to proceed with this transfer, you do not need to respond to this message. If you wish to cancel the transfer immediately, please click on the link below before Saturday, Apr 3, 2021

Is this Tucows actually Shopify or is someone else trying to steal my domain ?

Hey, @johnboy22!

Ryder here, from the Social Care Team at Shopify. Welcome to the Community and thanks for posting! Without seeing the email myself, it's hard to confirm whether an email might be a phishing email. That being said, I can confirm that Tucows is the parent company of OpenSRS, which is the service Shopify uses to resell domains to merchants.

Considering you've just gone through the domain transfer process, it's likely that this email is appropriately being sent to you from Tucows. You can learn more about this process in the Frequently Asked Questions section of our Transferring a domain guide.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if there's anything I can clarify.

Cheers.

Do NOT buy your domain directly through Shopify. They simply resell domains from a third party, and when issues arise, they offer no real support. My website has been down for over 40 hours, and Shopify is telling me to contact the third-party provider despite the fact that I purchased the domain through Shopify. Meanwhile, the third party says they cannot assist me and that I must contact Shopify instead.

No one is helping, and my website is still not working. This is completely unacceptable and highly unprofessional from Shopify. Very disappointed.
