Hi,
I’m setting up conversion tracking for Google Ads through Google Tag Manager (GTM), but I’m running into an issue with event distinctions. When I click “Add to Cart” on my website, GTM registers the events as “form start” and “form submit” instead of "Add to Cart."
The problem is that these same “form start” and “form submit” events are also triggered when users send messages through our contact form, making it impossible to distinguish between the two types of actions.
Is there a way to configure it in a way that "Add to Cart" clicks appear correctly as “Add to Cart” events? This way, I can accurately differentiate between cart actions and form submissions in my tracking.
Thanks in advance for any help! 🙂
HI Gerli11,
Thanks for your query.
Could you please share your website URL? I would love to check the datalayer.
Ecommerce events pushed in the GTM through Datalayer. If your datalayer not programmed properly for the e-commerce events following the GA4 schema then their could be the issue.
thanks
