Issue with hosting video content through Google Cloud.

We wish to host video content for our products, using Google Cloud. However, I seem to be constantly getting error relating to the file extension, each time I try to add the video to the listing.

Media upload failed

Image: File extension doesn't match the format of the file.

The object in question has been made public, and the video displays correctly if simply used in the browser.

The object type is video/mp4. And the actual file, is in the MPEG-4 format.

I'd appreciate any advice on the topic. Anyway to get past the Youtube / Vimeo limitation?

I do get the same, but with images. I wrote a service to merge images and want to add them via a URL.  I am not sure the error is described in how it checks the file extension.  The URL I am testing with is this: https://acrylicposters.azurewebsites.net/images/merge/1

Did you by any chance figure it out? We are still struggling.

I figured a couple of things out:

-- I used google drive to attach via URL...if you are using the API of google you need to link the

webContentLink

-- To generate the link I used this site for testing: https://sites.google.com/site/gdocs2direct/

-- I still have issues fetching it from Azure, Shopify does seem to be looking into the headers of the request and it seems azure and google is picking up the file incorrectly and sending headers incorrectly.

Not sure this helps you.

Any further advice? I am having this issue with Google Drive sending incorrect headers of images to Shopify so they won't download via direct download url.
