Items appear in a wrong collection section

Hey, 

I’m trying to figure out why does a few items appear in the WRONG collection section. 

for example, theres the “Tops” collection in the online store. When I upload a shirt, jacket or a coat, I tag it (#) as “Tops” and then it appears in that section automatically. 

BUT, when I look at the other items in that category on the website, I see sunglasses, towels and pants, EVEN THOUGH they are NOT tagged (#) as tops, and not associated as 
Such in any other way. 

How can I remove these items from the Tops section, without removing them from the whole website? (I want those items will stay in their specific other category).
