Hello Shopify Community,
I'm encountering a “Liquid error: Memory limits exceeded” error when trying to access the theme editor for my Shopify store. This error prevents me from accessing the theme editing screen.
I would appreciate any guidance on how to resolve this issue or manage memory limits effectively. Has anyone experienced this error before or knows a possible solution?
Thank you!

Hmm, this is not the first one today.
Does it happen with any theme or just some?
Hello;
I wrote to the shopify support team about this and they said it was a problem on their side, but I'm not sure.
I haven't made any edits to the theme in a long time. Today, when I tried to edit it for the first time, I got this error. I don't get this error in other themes.
Thank you for your answer.
Well, given that it's not the first case today and none of you modified their theme, I'd tend to think its on Shopifys end. Then strange that it's theme-dependent.
Unfortunately, I've checked a bunch of me themes and I am ok 🙂
It is really gratifying that you have not encountered this problem in the themes you use. I have been waiting for hours for the shopify administrators to solve this problem. They confirmed that the error was caused by them and said they would provide a quick solution, but no arrangement has been made yet. I will share all updates here.
Happened just the same when trying to edit our theme too.

I am having the same issue from yesterday, I am using the Next theme.
Hi,
I’m experiencing the same issue. I faced no problems yesterday, and when I contacted Shopify support, they confirmed that the issue is on their end. The strange thing is that I can edit my website, which was deployed about three years ago and is no longer in use, but I am unable to edit the website we are currently using. If your issue has been resolved, could you please let me know? It's been almost 18 hours, and they still haven't fixed it.
Thank you! @second2
The problem has not been resolved yet and I have not been able to get any information from shopify officials for hours.
Hi community,
Mak from ECO HAIR & CO I spoken to 5 Shopify support chats in one day I had a feeling it wasn’t my theme. It’s so good to see that I was right. I purchased my theme and I usually edit my website due to adding items and deals constantly. Yet here I am having the same issues as you all. How can I resolve this my poor customers can’t purchase due to this error. 😳🤦🏾♀️
Have the same issue, mine started last week. Everything was fine and then started getting these liquid errors everytime I update a specific page. Now I cant even access my theme.
I start to have the same error today! 100% sure it's on shopify end.
Hello;
The same problem persists and shopify support keeps giving the same answer.
- our team is still working on a solution for your situation
Unfortunately, there has been no progress. Please someone help us!
Thank you.
Mine is working now! Just Press 'Try Again' a couple of times and then it load!
This is ridiculous. It's been almost 5 days, and Shopify still hasn't provided an update on this. Has anyone found a solution by any chance?
Shopify is very skilled at charging for every step you take and every sale you make, but they are remarkably inept at fixing this major issue with Black Friday approaching. Days have passed, yet they are unable to resolve the problem, and many stores cannot adjust their designs for Black Friday. How will Shopify compensate for the financial loss caused by this?
This is an accepted solution.
The issue was resolved an hour ago.
Thanks Shopify team.
Hello everyone,
I am still experiencing the same issue mentioned in this post.
Recently, I deployed a new version of our theme app extension, where I modified the number of orders displayed per page. However, the issue persists.
We would appreciate any insights or suggestions from the community on how to resolve this. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue in a theme app extension recently? If so, what solutions worked for you?
Thank you for your help!
