Hello everyone,
I am setting up a new store, targeting US and European Market, however I am actually located in Pakistan.
So my question is, would I set my billing location to Pakistan with actual address, right?
Secondly, what is the locations tab for and what location should be set in the locations tab as default and otherwise? (as my orders will be dropshipped)
Attaching the following screenshot for this point as well.
Thirdly the Markets section, this would be set to US and EU, right?
Thanks in advance and pardon if the question is too basic or repeated.
Regards

Hi, @ammar_555.
Thank you for reaching out!
Yes, you would need to enter in your actual address for your billing information.
The locations tab is for you to enter in any physical locations or any apps where you sell products, ships products, or stock inventory. Your default location should be your dropshipping supplier, as that is where your products will be shipped from.
Correct, your markets section should be set to US and EU.
I also wanted to mention, that you want to make sure your shipping settings are set up correctly with your dropshipping company so that you charged correctly for all shipping labels.

Third party fulfilment apps typically provide the addresses of their fulfillment centers, which you can sync into the Locations tab.
When it comes to selecting a payment provider for your store while being based in Pakistan, you have a few options. However, it's important to note that not all payment gateways are available in every country. Here are some commonly used payment methods and providers you might consider:
Some local payment gateways like JazzCash or Easypaisa might be integrated with Shopify through third-party apps or custom integrations. These can be useful for local transactions but might not be ideal for international customers.

Thanks @Emily for the the detailed response.
I just have a follow up, for example if my products are from Dropship.io or Printful, in that case what would be the location set in locations tab?
Also if you could advise on this as well, what payment method or provider is recommended for Pakistan? Can I go ahead and select any of the ones available?
Regards

Hi @Ammar,
Were you able to find a payment gateway? I know for myself (and many others) it's proving extremely difficult to find a payment gateway when a company is registered and trading in a country other than the owner's country of residence.
Maybe you are incorporated in Pakistan despite are selling internationally to US/EU - in which case, I guess that might work. But most people (incl. me) have incorporated in the country they plan to sell to, then find they can't open a payment gateway without a local physical address.
FYI, For Payoneer mentioned above, you have to be incorporated in Hong Kong, which is super weird. I'm actually am resident in HK, but my business is registered in UK, so... ugh 🙄
