We recently updated our theme (Flow by Eight).
For some reason they removed some functionality that I deem to be very important, so hopefully someone can help me add this functionality back into my store.
It's specific to the product page.
See current product page:-
See old version where discount % was shown...
I want to bring this functionality back to my theme - but improve upon it and display it better... something like the below but have it say "x% Discount"
Frustrating because the badges are already displaying in places across the website, but the theme doesn't allow me to do it natively and I'm not knowledgable enough to implement on my own.
Seems pretty simple but any help would be appreciated
Hi @Drazdauskas
I see you are having issue with displaying discount badge on the product page in new theme. You can achieve this by adding the discount tag to the product you want to offer discount and need to add the code snippet to product template that will check for discount tag and add badge if found the discount tag to the product. I can help you to achieve this functionality. Let connect. That
I don't want it pull from a product tag... rather use its existing logic of just displaying the product badge if there is a sale price vs compare at price...
Yes! It can be done using price and compare at price. Need to modify product template code to implement it.
Still looking for a solution if anyone can help
Hi @Drazdauskas,
If you're considering using a 3rd party app, you should try Product Labels&Badges.
Thanks for suggestion but I don't want to use an app for such a simple thing
Thanks
Double check if a feature is/was actually part of the old theme, and how , either through the themes docs, or an unmodified backup of the initial theme.
It's easy to lose track of customizations or app sub-features(such as discount/pricing apps generating badges in this case).
If it was a native feature still double check if a new method isn't being used to enable badge displays, some themes use comparison price others require tags/metafields or alternate templates to avoid merchants automatically misapplying sales without active intent to do so.
@Drazdauskas failing all of the above if you need such customization , or fix?, then contact me for services. Either as a theme migration, or customization to re-enable/re-add this missing behavior.
It can drastically help if there is an unmodified original copy of the old version upon which to compare theme changes.
