Can I set a subfolder as the homepage for my ecommerce site?

I would like to make my Shopify site to have the subfolder /shop as its home page. 

Is this possible to do? My domain is hosted on Google Domains and my website is hosted on Wix. 

It would be ideal to have the shop on my domain. If this isn’t possible I’m entertaining a subdomain instead or just make a new root domain

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly, but if you mean whether it would be possible to have the "/shop" on your website's URL, no, as far as I am aware that would not be possible.

Within Shopify all the URLs, folders and subfolders are already predetermined and, as of now, they are unchangeable.
