Hello Shopify Community,
I am currently setting up return rules for my store and need some guidance on handling products that belong to multiple collections with different return policies.
We have set specific collections to be eligible for returns, but some products overlap between collections where one might allow returns and another might not. For example, a product could belong to both a “Ready to Ship” collection (eligible for returns) and a “Gown” collection (not eligible for returns , as it also includes Made to order items).
I am looking for the best way to manage these scenarios:
1.How does Shopify handle return eligibility for products that belong to multiple collections with conflicting return policies?
2.Is there a way to set priority rules for collections in cases of overlap?
3.Are there any third-party apps or Shopify Plus features (like Shopify Scripts) that can provide a solution for this issue?
4.What best practices do other store owners recommend for configuring return policies in such cases to minimize customer confusion and administrative issues?
Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help!
