My Robots.txt file is creating problems with Google Merchant Center. I downloaded the file so I could see what was happening. When I went to edit the file in my Theme, I expected to find a robots.txt.liquid file, but there wasn't one. Per Shopify instructions, I added the standard template per Shopify. My intent is to use the "noindex" command to keep certain pages out. I've already added a metafield (seo hidden) with the value set at "1" for individual products that are in "draft" status.
But the original Robots.txt fie still exists in my domain directory. It seems to me I need to eliminate it if I want Google to reference the template added in my Theme.
Is my assumption correct? If so, how do I eliminate the Robots.txt file Google is currently referencing?
