Menu Items disappear when setting Menu type to "Mega Menu" (Dawn 9.0)

When adjusting the menu type for my dawn theme, I noticed that all my menu items disappear when MegaMenu is selected. Only dropdown and hamburger menu works as expected. Is there a way to resolve this without changing the version of my theme?
