Hello,

We are currently having three separate stores for different markets and are planning to merge these stores into one under different language keys.

We would like to have opinions if any of you have done this? How much do I expect it to costs and how long would that take? We are also using Klaviyo so that  would need to merged into one as well 🙂

Hi PK2023,

I carefully read your comment and understand what you're trying to achieve.

The Solution:

  1. Hreflang Tags: Your SEO Specialist or code will need to know how to integrate hreflang tag into each of your websites. What is it? The hreflang tag is an HTML attribute that informs search engines about the language and geographical targeting of webpages. By using hreflang tags, websites can ensure that the appropriate language version is served to users based on their location, such as providing US English content to users in the US and Korean language content to users in Korea (and so forth). This functionality enhances user experience by delivering region-specific content to relevant audiences.
  2. How To Integrate Hreflang Tag Into Your Website:  The hreflang tag should be included in the on-page markup, HTTP header, or sitemap to indicate the language of the page, serving as a signal for appropriate language display. Keep in mind that hreflang tag must be embedded into the website home page -- and also -- every page on the site that has a corresponding international page.

Here is an example of what the code should look like:

<link rel="alternate" hreflang="en-US" href="http://example.com" />

Additionally, hreflang tags can then be added into the <head> for more site pages in different languages. This can be done for as many pages as you would like in other languages. For example:

<link rel="alternate" hreflang="en-US" href="http://example.com" />

<link rel="alternate" hreflang="es-ES" href="http://example.com" />
<link rel="alternate" hreflang="fr-FR" href="http://example.com" />

KLAVIYO: Currently, Klaviyo supports eleven languages with US English as the primary default language. https://www.klaviyo.com/blog/reviews-multi-language#:~:text=By%20default%2C%20Klaviyo%20will%20displ....

  • You won't be able to edit the code in Klaviyo to add hreflang tag.
  • Furthermore, your SEO Specialist or code would run into a technical nightmare if you decided to add a List of triggered Flows/Automated Workflows based on the needs of each custom. Those triggered flows would need to be language-specific as well.

I am a certified technical SEO specialist and expert coder with over 15 years of experience. The actual price depends on how many website pages need to migrated to the new website, is site migration also a need (or do you have someone hired to do this for you), and what's the time constraints for when you need this done?

Feel free to send me a private message and we can discuss the particulars.

Hello,

Thank you! We have already an offer on the table but would love to know if the price they gave is within a reasonable price range 🙂 They have offered 18500€  for migrating three stores to one and also doing the Klaviyo migrations from three accounts into one. What do you think @kjproweb ? Thank you for consulting a bit!

HI PK2023,

It's great that you're receiving a proposal to assist in getting this done.

 do not have any information about your three website(s), the number of pages on each site, and how many products need to be migrated to the new site and new hosting platform. Will the new website be hosted on Shopify? Or will it be hosted on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) or dedicated server with a new hosting company?

In other words, I don't know if the price quote is reasonable. I need answers to questions first. *However, I can't imagine paying more than $10338 Euro for this type of project -- unless there are thousands of products and unknown complexities that I'm not familiar with at this time.

Feel free to send me a private email. I'll gladly send you a Website Migration Proposal that includes SEO/hreflag tag (built-in language transaction) for your website as previously shared.

We’ve recently done this on 4 separate occasions. our process is now designed to ensure everything is merged under one shop and im happy to offer a free consultation to anyone who is interested.

Our mist complex project including several apps that also required careful migration:

We migrated the data/subscriptions/loyalty points/order history and customer accounts from the 'smaller' store into the 'bigger store' through a long list of step-by-step tasks that including exporting data, preparing import sheets, and then making sure that the destination store (i.e. the bigger one) is ready for the import. It's not a small feat but definitely worth the hassle when considering how much easier your life is right after. Drop me a message on linkedin if you're still thinking of doing this https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthiascamilleri/

our prices range from €8,000 + depending in complexity. Happy to chat!
