messed up background and in my templates help!!

Can someone help me fix my background behind templates and certain pages background.  i'm using dawn theme and know how to change the background colour through themes settings but i tried to change the background for certain sections with coding and ended up messing it up! i can't figure out how to undo it

i want the plaid background removed and only added behind the header i also wanted to make the video smaller on my home page.

Actually this is not complete Information to give any directions. Here are few cases

if you had made changes in CSS file. I suggest to replace the CSS file from the previous dawn theme if you not have any other changes in CSS file. Then go to theme settings and make updates.  

If you share in detail I can answer you correctly.
